Mahek Chahal is a 24-year-old Norwegian model of Indian origin. Although Mahek comes from a Punjabi familythat migrated to Norway, she considers herself a full-bloodied Norwegian.

She speaks Norwegian, and also  think in Norwegian . She studied in a Norwegian-medium school. She had been doing modeling and dance shows in various countries around the world before she gave Bollywood a shot.

Mahek s linguistic shortcoming became a problem when she was considered for a role in Ajnabee , two years back. However, she was able to get a Telugu movie titled Neetho, but the director had to get her dialogues dubbed.
Mahek quickly learned from her shortcomings and joined Kishore Namit's acting school in Mumbai, which has groomed newcomers Hrithik Roshan and former beauty queens Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza.
