The most anticipated film has finally kicked off with a small pooja amidst the cast and crew. Yash Raj Films’ most-anticipated and ambitious film, a love story by the king of romance drama, 75-year-old Yash Chopra, has finally taken off with a small ceremonial pooja at their plush studios in Mumbai today. Chopra’s younger son, Uday Chopra, who usually assists him on the sets, confirmed the film’s launch on Twitter.

He tweeted: “Launching my dad’s film today with a little pooja at YRF… shoot starts tomorrow with Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Dad directing after Veer- Zaara (sic).” Meanwhile, the film’s lead, SRK who has worked with senior Chopra in Darr, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara tweeted after the film launch: “Feel extremely happy when I start work with Yashji…from the inside.

Easy… smiles… happiness… purity of storytelling.” Well, we hope the pleasure of working again with the thespian filmmaker does bring happiness in SRK’s career which has been going through a rough patch due to the mixed responses to both his recent releases: RA.One and Don 2. Anyway, apart from Katrina, YRF’s fave girl, Anushka Sharma, plays a consequential part in the film.

The idea of the film originated when Anubhav was watching a commercial about six years ago which showed two children controlling a human with a remote. * Anubhav and Shah Rukh watched as many as 200 superhero films in multiple languages from all over the world before making 'RA.One'. * Shah Rukh has roped in Oscar winner Resul Pookutty for the special sound effects. The team went to Los Angeles get the sound effects done for the film.

Jeff Kleiser of 1994 Hollywood film "Stargate" was hired as the supervisor of visual effects. * Nicola Pecorini of 'Loathing in Las Vegas' fame is the director of photography, while the film is edited by Academy-award winner Martin Walsh. * It has 3,500 VFX shots, which could mark a new beginning for the use of the technology in Indian films. * The task of adding special effects was outsourced to multiple specialty studios including in London, Paris and Bangkok, as also in the US. * Dolby surround 7.1 system has been installed in several multiplexes in the run-up to the sci-fi's release.

Chinese actor Jackie Chan was reportedly approached for a role in the film and later Chinese-American actor Tom Wu was signed on to be a part of the film. * Shah Rukh roped in international singer Akon for two songs -- "Chammak Challo" and "Criminal" -- and both of them are a rage. * The G.One suit that Shah Rukh wears in the film is made of silicon, styrofoam and rubber and is said to be considerably heavy. SRK said he lost 5 kgs after shooting in the superhero suit.

Shah Rukh had to don prosthetic make up for 8 to 10 hours a day without a break which made it difficult for him to even eat and drink. * Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and actress diva Priyanka Chopra will be seen in cameos in the film. * Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has given his voiceover for the film.

The music launch of "RA.One" was streamed live on a video-sharing site for an undisclosed amount. *The event's telecast rights are believed to have been sold to the TV channel for a Rs 10 crore. * Satellite rights of the film have reportedly been sold for Rs.35 crore, while distribution rights have been sold for Rs 77 crore.

The eight-city tour to promote his dream project "RA.One" has left Shah Rukh Khan tired and exhausted, but the emotional bond with the film and reaching out to his fans is keeping the superstar alive, energetic and kicking.

 "I am extremely exhausted and tired. It is because I am not just promoting the film, I am also doing the post production of 'RA.One' at the same time. Even though I have private planes to travel and five star hotels to stay in but I have been working round the clock," Shah Rukh told reporters here Thursday.

 The 45-year-old actor was in the capital to facilitate real heroes of Delhi, who in their own way have selflessly contributed to the city to make it a better and safer place to live in.

 Though the star arrived an hour late at the unusual venue - Shivaji Stadium Airport Metro station, the enthusiasm and screams from the crowd, a "Chamak Challo" jig by the superstar lit the boring grey and white structured walls of the station with colours of joy and happiness.

 Wearing a pair of jeans, a black T-shirt and a red stole around his neck, his hair was neatly tied in a ponytail and though his eyes looked tired, his body and energetic gestures overcame all that.

 This mega-budget film is taking Shah Rukh to cities he has never visited before, and very modestly the actor says all his promotional activities are targeted to inform the audience about this film.

 "I am a small time actor who is struggling to make his audience like his movie. People don't know what they want till they see the film. So the idea of this activity is to inform people that there is a superhero film, so by the time they go to the cinema halls to watch the film, they are already aware what it is all about," he said.

 "The film comes straight from my heart and I believe in it. I have made this film because I wanted to, so why should I be scared of the outcome. In 20 years, you have given me status where I can think of spending money," he added.

 Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also has Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in the lead role. It is set for a Diwali release.

Ra.One is generating a lot of buzz of course being a Shahrukh Khan film and featuring the 100 crores actress Kareena Kapoor. It is in news for being sci-film a one of its kind film made in India but what is drawing bigger attention apart from all these facts is the curly hair style look of Shahrukh Khan in the film. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha, and starring Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. It also stars Shahana Goswami, Dilip Tahil and Chinese-American actor Tom Wu in supporting roles.

The film is produced under Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment.

As a way to make his character more believable, Khan decided that he would perform his own stunts in the film

The soundtrack of Ra.One which was finalized in Prague and London, featured music composed by Vishal-Shekhar whilst the lyrics were penned by Atahar Panchi, Vishal Dadlani and Kumaar.

Director Anubhav Sinha announced that the soundtrack would feature two songs recorded by Senegalese American R&B singer Akon.

In 2010, Kareena Kapoor was signed on to play the female lead whilst Arjun Rampal was later approached for his role of a villain
